From the Shanghai Conservatory to Beverly Hills: My Path Into Luxury Real Estate

The fuller story behind the violin in my photos and the framed DVD cover in my office

TL;DR

  • The background: I trained at the Shanghai Conservatory, performed for Maestro Isaac Stern at 15, and was featured in his Academy Award-winning documentary, From Mao to Mozart, appearing on its DVD cover.

  • The career chapter in between: After my master's degree from USC, I moved into the entertainment industry, founded my own corporation, and performed and recorded across film, TV, commercials, and video games — building a genuine network across LA's film and music industries.

  • The through-line: Concert violin and luxury real estate both demand meticulous preparation, the ability to read a room and adjust in real time, and the discipline to perform at a high level when it counts.

  • Today: Based in Beverly Hills, I bring that same preparation and cross-industry network to every client — from first-time luxury buyers to families navigating a cross-border relocation from Asia.

A Story People Usually Discover in Pieces

Most people find out about my background in pieces — a client notices a violin in a photo, or asks about the framed DVD cover in my office. So here's the fuller story.

From the Shanghai Conservatory to Isaac Stern's Stage

I grew up in China and began studying violin at the Shanghai Conservatory, one of the most demanding classical training environments in the world. At 15, I had the extraordinary opportunity to perform for Maestro Isaac Stern during his tour of China — an experience that led to my being featured as a violinist in his Academy Award-winning documentary, From Mao to Mozart, and appearing on the cover of its DVD release.

Building a Career — and a Network — in Entertainment

After earning my master's degree from USC, I moved into the entertainment industry, eventually founding my own corporation and performing solo, in chamber ensembles, and in symphonic settings, while also recording for motion pictures, television, commercials, and video games. That chapter built something I didn't fully appreciate until later: a genuine network across film and music in Los Angeles that has become one of my most valuable resources in real estate.

Why Concert Violin and Luxury Real Estate Aren't as Different as They Look

The jump from concert violin to luxury real estate might look unrelated, but the through-line is real: both demand meticulous preparation, the ability to read a room and adjust in real time, and the discipline to perform at a high level when it actually counts — whether that's a stage or a negotiating table.

Where That Background Shows Up Today

Today, based in Beverly Hills, I bring that same preparation and cross-industry network to every client — whether they're a first-time luxury buyer or a family navigating a cross-border relocation from Asia.
